Default tc new englander front sight

I am trying switch out the front sight on my new englander. I got an front sight from track of the wolf.

Problem is I can't get the old one off. been pounding on it 3 hours and only got to move very little. any ideas on what could be holding it on?

putting something on that will allow me to pick up the target better.

They only go in and out of the wedge one way. Are you maybe trying to drive it out the wrong way?

I don't have a T/C NE but on my Lymans they all have sights that must be put on from right to left and removed left to right.

you need to put something like electrical tape around the barrel just in case you miss while hitting it. i dont think it matters which side it is knocked out from . you need to get a small lump hammer. you need weight and heavy impact to get that sight off.when you tap the new one in go slow and use a brass punch checking often to see if its lines up where you need it to be. you may also want to use the round part of a ballpein hammer to just lightly tap the edges over before tapping in the new sight. take your time and good luck!
