I just figured out that I am going to have to miss opening morning of Gun season here inhoosierland. DARN IT!
I think it's going to be wild and crazy here as deer have REALLY been moving good the last week or 2. My brother-in-law who is a none hunter also put the pressure on last night.......by getting a 7pt. with his van.

I once had a best friend who's future wife decided they were getting married in November. He told her and so did I that if it was during deer season we were not showing up and she'd have to get married alone. Same went for opening day of trout season.
That woman never did seem to like me...
Its too bad that you are going to miss opening day. I always felt that the first two days of season were the days with the highest percentage of scoring your deer. After that it is more like hunting... Those first couple days, them deer are running full bore all day long.

Cayugad,
I know it's a bummer, but I try to keep things in perspective. I was asked tohelp coach a kids basketball camp and it's at 8am each Saturday, of course I never say "NO". It's for the kids....it's just 1 morning so in the grand scheme of things a small sacrifice. There are few things like the excitement and pleasure of anticipation of opening day of ANY hunting season!
Have you tried those FPB's yet?
Any truth to the rumors about the tax on ammo I am hearing about?

hoosier, I missed opening morning too, had to work 3rd shift the night before.
as for a tax, dude is not even in office yet, all bills congress was working before the election are dead, do to a new congress. any on bush's desk, if he does not like them he will let them lie.
easy way to fight gun control, know your congress persons email, phone number, and snail mail addy.
as for fbp's. I like how they shoot. one hole groups at 50yrds with my knight usak.
showing real promise out of my disc exetrem at 100yrds.

Corey,
I shot my Optima Pro again last night....2nd time with the new scope on it so I was trying to get it dialed in a little more. I had markers setup at 75, 100 & 125 yards with my range finder. I put the target at 75 just to see where I would start.
I fired the 1st shot at 75 yards and couldn't see the hit...thought I missed it all. I walked to the target and discovered it was 1/2 inch directly below dead center bull.
2nd shot was at 100 yards. Put it about 2 inches down and 1 inch right. 3rd shot at 125 was directly below the 2nd and almost touching. 4th shot just made the 3rd shots hole bigger. I WAS PUMPED. This isn't shooting off of a bench vise or whatever, this is just leaning on a rest in a chair.
If I raise that pattern about 1 1/2 inches, I will be good from 50 to 175 yards! I love shootin those sabots, they are DEAD ACCURATE. I might try them with 3 pellets but I hate to fix what don't seem to be broken!
