UC, yeah - I did handle the Accura just to see what all of the fuss was about. Have to admit, it felt good. Shouldered real nice. It's just that for some reason I can't explain tha gun does not light my fire.

FG. Proof???? You want proof? You can't HANDLE the proof!!! Damn, if it wasn't a 50 mile trip I'd go back tomorrow with my camera. (Do you think that would get me booted out of the store?)

I took it out and shot it again today just for fun. The rifle has very good balance. The trigger is real good and breaks clean with no creep to it. Today I was shooting 200 grain Shockwaves and 100 grains if Pyrodex RS. As like yesterday, it piled them right into a nice tight group (a little to the left). I would have took pictures but got the camera out and the big red flashing battery sign came on and then the camera turned off. I swear I had just recharged these batteries...

Anyway, with open sights off a bench at 50 yards, it shot about a two inch group not counting one flier. No reason why that one decided to take off, but that would have made the group over four inches... I was swabbing between shots, and taking my time. It was cold today so the barrel was not heating bad. And like I said, it piled them good, all but that one that flew for some reason. Every so often I get a round that will do that. Even with my Whites. All will be going too good, and then BAM!! you shoot and its way out of the group.. I guess that is why I like my muzzleloaders.

stay away from the energizer rechargeable batteries Dave, They only last a year.

I use Rayovac and the first pair lasted me 10 years before being tossed into the trash.

I recently purchased some Sanyo Eneloop batteries. Very happy with them. Trashed about 16 or so batteries that just wouldn't hold a charge anymore. The Eneloop come charged too.

Duracell is what they are. Like I said, I thought they were charged, and yes I took pictures the last few days, but not a lot.

I don't think any of them last for the 1000 recharges that many claim. The cheap chargers often go berserk as well.

Sounds like the gun is shooting well with sabots. I'll be interested to hear how yours shoots with FPBs if you try them, and also what you think about how FPBs load, and in particular how they start.

FPB's are very expensive here.. I decided I might run into the shop and press me out some .501 &.502 conicals through the sizer. Then Ican see how they will work. I think Ihave a .501, .503(which throws small), and a .504 sizer so I shouldbe able to find something. I am going to use some of the UC Short Mags that I cast so they do not get too heavy. Then I can seehow this rifle will behave with some conicals at this moderate range..

When Wal Mart has their end of the season sale, I will have a friend that works there, keep an eye on them and let me know when the price comes down. Then I might by them out of stock so I can play all winter with them.

Cayugad thanks so much for the great report!I hope mine shoots as well as yours does.I just recieved my Williams peep sight from Cabelas yesterday and am going to try later on and mount it today.Set it up on the gun and looked through it and that red fiber optic front sight shows uo perfectly through it.I was concerned the hole might be to small but I think it is just perfect. Will be first of next week before I sight it in as I squirrel hunt as much as I can with my boy who is 7 years old.Been 4 years since I hunted again with a muzzleloader but I am pumped just to do it again. Here in Virginia my season is in its full rut usually when blackpowder comes in.Thanks for sharing! Mike

Keep me posted if you find some good loads.. That Williams Peep sight.. did you mount that where the scope mounts go? That would be interesting as we are not allowed magnified scopes in our muzzleloader season, so I am putting a 1X scope on this rifle.
