Would you not say that in reality - it is a "semi-clean" bore? I can not imagine that you are strip cleaning the bore between shots on the bench... I assume you are field cleaning - running patches til you get a clean patch. When these guys say "squeaky clean" I assume they mean they took the gun out and shot it after it has been thourouly cleaned on the bench at home.

In my mind there is a big difference between field cleaned and bench stripped cleaned.

I had no intention of trying to correct anything - just was trying to indicate my point - if you look back in the posts - I claim I shoot a "semi-clean" barrel during hunting season - well semi-clean by most folks standards.

Exactly! except I use windex @ the bench and while hunting...

Not me. With my hunting rifle all I care about is the first shot from a fully cleaned rifle. I take my rifle down and completely clean it between each shot. There may be a touch or two of residue around the nipple and such, but I patch the bore completely. I also do not oil the bore. But then I never oil the bore on my main hunting rifle. I go to the range frequently. Sometimes twice a week, and I always shoot one shot from my LRH, at different distances. I am getting the hang of this new B&C reticle on my LRH, and it works great. I have it shooting great out to 225 yards. I am going to be doing a good bit of shooting over the next two weeks, I just got my 22-250 build back form the gunsmith. I will takepictures of my ML shooting as well. Tom.
