A-Bolt or X-Bolt
Hey Guys,
Taking money out of the picture for the price difference between the two, would you go for a Browning Mountain TI or a X-Bolt.
I realize they made some changes in the XBolt, but it seems like most of it is conveniance based - between the button to eject a shell without clicking the saftey off, and the new magazine. Beyond that, is there any reason to even consider the X-Bolt over the TI?
My mind is set on the TI 99.9%

RE: A-Bolt or X-Bolt
I don't feel qualified to answer because although I've got several a-bolts, have only handled x-bolts and shot 1 except to say the factory out of box triggers are OUTSTANDING. I'm serious-the X-bolt triggers are among the damn few I wouldn't even touch, except MAYBE reduce pull weight a small bit. Since I've long since modified my A-bolts so that I may operate bolt while on safety, that part makes no difference to me. While I like the ease of changing mags on the X-bolt, I'm not crazy about them being plastic instead of the conventional removable steel mags concealed inside floorplate as in A-bolts. Another thing is with the unique mount screw setup of the X-bolt, I'd like to see them include bases. I CAN however tell you this much, I'm going to get an X-bolt soon so we'll know how mine does as soon as I get it and wring it out.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not to worried about the trigger, as those can always be re-worked. I know my dad's a-bolt trigger is reworked a touch lighter. I'd just have it matched to that.
I really like the Mountain TI - so I yet to see a reason to even consider the X-Bolt.

RE: A-Bolt or X-Bolt
I have a Mountain TI in 325WSM and I love it. But my next gun will be the X-Bolt in 7mm-08 so my son(10 years old)will also use it. I like the fact you can unload with the saftey on with the X-Bolt. Also the price is a factor.

Yeah, I don't quite want to spend the $$ for the TI, but after carrying one for a season - I'm sold. I want my own.
I held and played with an x-bolt two days ago. I didn't like it.
