OK... I removed the BP and shoved some bullets down...
First to go down was a Bull Shop .503/460... I did start it with thumb pressure, but it was more difficult than loading my GM-LRH barrel and the 50 cal Renegade barrels. But it did start inand once the whole bullet was clear of the muzzle it dropped to the breech really easily. Next I dropped a .503 No Excuse in from the breech. Once it was started into the riflelings - It dropped all the way to the muzzle and just took the weight of the range rod to push it out the muzzle. Onboth bullets the lands createdengraving butthere were no marks indicating that I had hit the bottom of the grooves...
From each of these two loading I think if I were shooting conicals it, I would have to go to .504's and again the GM-LRH uses .503...
Next I put a .452/250 grainSpeer GoldDot in a Harvester short black and loaded it. It was a little tighter than I thought it mightbe but nothing I would change sabots for. Next, same bullet in a HPH-24 sabot... tight start, but still able to start it with thumb pressure and it pushed down justwith about the same pressure as the Harvester.
I am sure the 3p would reduce loading pressure a little and still be a very able sabot, but I am not sure that you if you moved to the "crush rib" that you mightleak gas with it.
OK as long as I have it open I am now going to trya .504 Bull Shop...
Needed to use a short starter to get it started in but once in it went down the pipe very easily. Looking at it I might have just barely reached the depth grooves the grooves but could not be sure of that.
It really seems to me that the muzzle even just the crown is the tightest part of the barrel - after that everything is very uniform. A visual inspection of the crown - it looks good....

Out there I tried to load a .503 and using my thumb could not get it onto the muzzle. I was thinking.. should I take a ball starter and drive it in or just forget it. Since I was out there to shoot sabots, I decided I would stick with what I was doing. I have some of the MMP HPH-24 and some crushed rib. I will give each of them a try. I also have some of the standard Nosler sabots which might work real good...

If the Nosler sabot you have does not have the stair stepcup that the MMP's have, you have actually got a Harvester short black... or if the Nosler has a smooth cup and is shorter than the HPH-24.. you have a Harvester...
Prolly makes no difference to you, but I could not get the Pink tape to work right had to go to White tape to get the right wrap on the breech plug....
