Nice shooting Dave!! the shooting to the right happens to me w/either heavy bullets or heavy charges, around 100grs, I wonder if it has to do w/the force to start the bullet moving or the recoil etc. Just theorizing. Makes me wonder though.

About six clicks left and you should be set I think. Nice groups, neat to see Pyrodex and T7 side by each like that. That cap case is only about an inch or so wide isn't it?

Actually the cap tin is about an inch and a half in diameter... this might put the Pyrodex RS group more in perspective. My biggest problem was grabbing the correct jug of powder. I had both jugs out on the bench and found myself cross loading from time to time in the groups. But it all worked out.

This rifle has a fixed mounted 1X scope. I think I will pick up a couple sets of Warne QD rings, and then change them over. Also get a new 2-7 for this rifle and see if it is as accurate as I suspect with a good power scope on it. That way I can change between the 1X and the multi power scope. I want to try some long range shooting with this rifle.

If it's shooting that well wth a 1X I think it will be a shooter with a 3x-7x. The potential is there for sure.

As I am sure you know.. all a 1X scope really is, would be a fancy aiming device. I find them more accurate, but I did consider an front sight with a + in a tube, and then a rear peep so that you would basically line them up. I think Lyman makes one. You use the 57 SMT target rear peep and then the hooded front sight with the inserts.

Yeah, I know. But that 1X scope is probably a lot better hunting sight than a peep and globe front sight. I was just wondering if you could get finer crosshairs in a 1X than the ones they usually put in them.

My only complaint about the rifle and scope combination is weight of the whole outfit. I according to my turkey all purpose tool (weight scale, measuring tape, gut hook, pen, neck loop, etc) it is over nine pounds. It feels like a lot more then that when you shoot it, its heavy. Next trip to the range I will have to check and compare the cross hair width of the Nikon 1X on my White Bison. I think they might be a little smaller.
