UC,
What units are you asking about?

feet per second, grains, etc. I just thought for his project, it would be better for him to add the units- at least for each column of values.

OK, I see what you mean. Most of them are self explanitory to those who are use to this type of info, the only one that is different is that we used grams for weight since it is a science experiment (plus the only scale I have that goes higher than 330 grains only has grams), I need to get a new scale that goes higher. The conversion for grams to grains is 15.4324 grains to 1 gram.

Would be interesting to see how a maxi-hunter compared to a maxi-ball, also like to see a maxi-ball fired with 100-110g T7 loose.

Heres a 350 grain tc maxi hunter that hit my sandstone rock bullet stopper 60 yards away. Same crap happens with these too,

Tell your son great job! I remember sending you emails with suggestions on this one and as some one in the science profession, I think his project was done well. Hopefully he had fun, get's an A, and maybe get an award too!

Thanks for the positive comments and encouragementfor my son. His science fair is this Saturday and he is busy puting his display together now. He hopes to do well enough to be selected to go to regionals. It's unfortunate that I am working in Colorado this weekend and can't be there. I'm trying to help him as much as I can via the internet but its not the same as being there.

I did a little calculating to see how the testing results fit into a hunting load for each bullet. These were done at 500 feet elevation, higher up would make the equivalent range even further out.

Comparison of test shot averagesto hunting loads to see what down range distances match closely to test loads.
Test loadEquivalent
MV fps FPE Range ydsVel. FPE
PRB load comparison 1800 1662 75 1229 774
Ball-et load comparison 1500 1277 130 944 613
Maxi load comparison 1400 1784 220 941 806
