The best IMO is a Remington 209-4 - but of course Remington not longer makes it...
I have been shooting the new Winchester Triple Se7en primer - It really seems to function well, but they are expensive /100 - the only reason I have them is Wal-Mart had them on sale for $2/100
You might get a package of regular Winchester W209's the mildest you can get and try them.
There is a thread down the line on 209's might read some of that...

#11 mag caps and the Nobel #1075 caps are hotter than a Musket cap, but do not light for the same duration - the musket cap will provide sparks longer. IMO the 1075 is awful hard to beat.

RE: Which Powder?
the only reason I was swiching from musket caps is because they are hard to find around here. I did have acouple misfires last weekend, and one hangfire. but the caps were very old and I dont know how they were stored. I dont know what kind they were but will check when i get home from work. They were in a black plastic can with a red sticker on top. I did find one store that had some (40 miles away) and got the wife to pick up a couple new cans last night. These are CCIs I think. In a little tin of 100 with a coupletraditional looking muzzleloaderson the front if I remember correctly. Anyway...I will now get to try both when the conversion comes in.
