The trade in 54 cal.percussion is what I would be looking for but dave say it won't fit.I have a spare percussion lock I would like to put to use in a PA Hunter stock.
I would suggest then that you watch ebay for the stock, since you have the lock. A lot of gun parts on there, you should be able to get just the stock for $50 or $60 bucks and then buy the new barrel at MidSouth and your good to go with basically a new rifle for $150, which is very, very cheap for a rifle. I have been watching a few stocks with the FL in them already in the TC Renegade style, and they go from about $130 to $150 for the stock and the lock. So that gives you a bit of a range on prices of these things. Yard sales are coming up and old flint guns are sometimes there, so check those out also. My brother put together a 45 Caliber for about $50-$75buying parts at yard sales and a friend who was selling a barrel after upgrading to a Green Mountain, so good deals on parts could be had. I know an L&R Lock for a Flint lock cost about $130, so that is an expensive part. Barrels are $160 to $220 for a TC or a GM for a flinter and the stock is anywhere from $50 to $100. Whole guns new from TC are $559. I only know the TC lince of FL, since that is what I have. Traditions will be less, but how much less I don't know. Good luck for your gun fixup strategy, it is fun to build a gun from parts.

It might have fit, it was just I was not going to take the chance and try to force it. Also I think some work would have to be done on the tang of the rifle to really make them fit. I am not a gun smith, so when things do not look right, I leave them alone and let someone who knows what they are doing make the mess..

Here is what I think I know....

if the lyman deer stalker barrel will fit a t/c stock and lock set-up
The deer stalker barrel probably will not fit without modification.... the under lug is in the wrong place and the barrel is 7/8's if I remember right. I had one ages ago but that was several years back...

If you asking about aLyman Trade Rifle barrel in percussion (54 or 50) is 15/16ths and the under lug is in the same position as a TC.

The barrel should fit into the TC barrel channel just fine. Thehook on the Lyman may be to thick/thin to fit properly to fit into the TC tang - I can not remeber which one it is...,but that is not a problem a file will solve that problem. The problem is in the breech plug,my Lyman does not have a groove for the lock to fit up inside as does a TC breech plug. You will have to grind a"U" shaped detent in the lock plate. BUT...we just went through one of these switches not to long ago with a Cabelas barrel, which is also a Interarms barrel, and it did have the cut out slot in the breech plug...

I have both of them here, a TC of course and a 54 Lyman Trade Rifle - if you want me to get them out and take some pics let me know....

sabotloader: thanks so much for all the details,I think I will pass on the hole set-up,I really have no need for a percussion barrel just have a spare lock thought I play with a percussion lock I am not in a hurry and do not want to grind the t/c lock plate,I thought the trade barrel breech had a notch in it,thanks so much

The newer barrels might have the notch, my Lyman is probably 8-9 years old....

Just so you know I bought another Ren 50 barrel the other day... so we will see what this one is like... I am still looking for that perfect barrel I guess...

You won't find the perfect barrel on ebay, you will find the perfect barrel at http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/catalog.aspx?catid=HawkenRenegadeStyleRifles

good luck on the pursuit of that perfection. Chap
