Default RE: LYMAN DEER STALKER BARREL QUESTION

Here is what I think I know....

if the lyman deer stalker barrel will fit a t/c stock and lock set-up
The deer stalker barrel probably will not fit without modification.... the under lug is in the wrong place and the barrel is 7/8's if I remember right. I had one ages ago but that was several years back...

If you asking about aLyman Trade Rifle barrel in percussion (54 or 50) is 15/16ths and the under lug is in the same position as a TC.

The barrel should fit into the TC barrel channel just fine. Thehook on the Lyman may be to thick/thin to fit properly to fit into the TC tang - I can not remeber which one it is...,but that is not a problem a file will solve that problem. The problem is in the breech plug,my Lyman does not have a groove for the lock to fit up inside as does a TC breech plug. You will have to grind a"U" shaped detent in the lock plate. BUT...we just went through one of these switches not to long ago with a Cabelas barrel, which is also a Interarms barrel, and it did have the cut out slot in the breech plug...

I have both of them here, a TC of course and a 54 Lyman Trade Rifle - if you want me to get them out and take some pics let me know....
