RE: My New Omega
What color is the sabot for the XTP's? If it's the green (standard pressure) sabot I've found they don't work worth a darn, especially with a higher pressure powder like Triple 7. If the have the black (high pressure "Magnum" sabots then you're good to go. I bought a pack of 20 XTP's for practice because they are much cheaper than QT's, but they had the green sabots. Every shot with more than 90 grains of T7 2F blew the sabot or ripped the petals off. The best it'd group was 4-6 inches at 50 YARDS! Tried three XTP w/ black sabots and group went back to about 2-3" at 100 yards. Still not as good as the QT's, but good enough for practice.

RE: My New Omega
littlemac,
You never mentioned what weight Barnes bullet you were using. I have shot the .50cal Omega and I have an Encore...both shoot the 300gr. Barnes MZ better than the 250gr. Barnes MZ bullet with 100 - 150 grains of either tripple 7 or Pyrodex pellets.
The Remington 289gr. solid copper bullet shoots even better yet in all my guns with 1-28 twist. The Remintons are harder to find in the stores though.
I myself would never run a brush through my bore between shots. Think about it for a second...all you are doing is brushing all the fouling down to the bottom of the breech....possibly causing a mis fire....even with an inline.
There's nothing better than a dampened patch w/saliva!
Good Luck with your Omega and keep it in the 10X
