Chap Yespenetration will be important after accuracy. I use a 3/4 inch piece of plywood and 3-4 phone books forpenetration and most importantly lead retention. I was the guy that got blasted by the powerbelt lovers during the fall after I reported their light weight bullets exploded on impact. The light weights were the worst of 10 slugs I tested. Now for those PB lovers I did not test the heavier bullets. They will be a part of this test. Also after reading more articles than I can believe about the PB I am thinking that they can not be pushed with alot of powder. At 100 grains they have major issues. Just my finding as a non expert. I have a simple formula for success. I want a bullet to be able to blow through a shoulder and enter the boiler room intact not in pieces.
JT_6,
That is a good test if a bullet is holding together. I am glad you tested all the bullets becauseyou now know the relative strengths of each bullet. You got the right model "blow through a shoulder and enter the boiler room intact not in pieces", exactly. You don't try to hit the shoulder blade, but when it happens you want to do the best you can to get the animal, not wound it. As for PBblowing up,you reported your own personal experience, because you don't want that to happen again. I believe that is ethical and morally right to do such a thing and I commend you for reporting the facts. I await your heavy PB testing, but Ithink your on to theright bullet from reading this complete thread. Good luck on your testing and finding your truth.

Yes, I hunt in near Bath NY just over the PA line, and I grew up in Elkland Pa, not far from there, so I know they deal up there. Also I just put money down for a 2008 elk hunt in Colorado.

n-rod and anyone listening any suggestions on the felt lube wad. Is there a sizeor brand that you might recommend. April 6 and the Easter Bunny will be leaving his eggs in 8-10 inches of snow. Any suggestions how he might not leave any size 13 boot prints. HAPPY EASTER TO ALL.

.510 fiber wads are the ones I like and the price is much better then the bore buttons.

As for your easter rabbit problem. Cut some rabbit feet out of cardboard, tie that to your boots and comment to the kids how big that rabbit must be to carry all them eggs around the country.

Totally agree with Dave.... WAD-510-A. Wipes the barrel on the way done and on the way out....

And I agree for the most part I prefer these to a bore button...
