Here's an even better idea, yeoman: go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and download the Picture Resizer. After you download the file, run it. Then you'll be able to open the Windows Explorer (file manager, not Internet Explorer), go to a folder that has a bunch of pics, select one or several or all, then right-click and resize them to fit whatever screen you'd like. resized to fit 800x600 screen, they'll prob be under 100kb; if not, try 640x480.
This goes for the rest of you, too - good tool at the above site. And they're FREE. Enjoy.
EDIT: Wait - MO Archer already gave you this. Well... if you haven't gotten it yet, GET IT.

I like sony's image station as a host.

They also down size the picture, but uploading a full size picture there can take a long time. 600x400 size pictures work very well and do not take months for us with dial up to see them when we look at your post.
Then do the [img] thing on both ends as I did above.
