Default Gun for my son question

I posted about the matched pair in the Gun forum but didn't get much response. Since looking some more I found that they sell a matched set that includes a .50cal M/L, .22cal, and a 20ga barrel.

This is for my 8 year old son so he can get out there with me during all seasons. After kissing the scope on my Omega a few weeks ago I want to get him something that fits him. I am happy that he still wants to shoot after that. I showed him the pictures of them and he likes the walnut/blued finish over the SS/Black combo. He has made all A's and B's so far in school so a surprise is in order. Do any of you have any experience with these guns? Are they good quality? Could I get more gun somewhere else for a little more money that will still give me the same versatility as this gun?

I bought my son the youthRossi 50 cal muzzleloader a couple of years ago and it is a tack driver. We love it and it is very easy to clean. Shoots just as well as my Knights and is easier to clean. I think your son would love it. Good luck.

It's important that we pass on to our kids the opportunity they have to hunt and fish. I taught my 2 sons how to respect guns and how to be safe. They to this day hunt with my at every opportunity. I am soon to be 69 and we still bowhunt and ML hunt. I have 2 grandsons but only one has an interest in outdoor sports and that's OK. The other one knows how to be safe with firearms. We are losing our heritage a little at a time time due to all the other things kids like to do. But I will go to Glory with the knowledge I did all I could to give them a choice.
