Frustration in MA
Just need to vent. I have gone out almost every morning this season and have been on birds almost everyday, but I just can't seem to capitalize. Everytime things are finally going "right", something crazy happens. 2 separate times I have had toms coming off of the roost, only to have a coyote come w/in 25 yards of me, go after my decoy, and then run into the woods and flush the birds. If they do come in, they hang up w/ all the hens they are with. And to top it all off, today I had a guy come in and set up in between me and 2 gobblers coming in! I couldn't believe my eyes. He parked next to my truck and just came in and tried to purposely cut me off!
Anyway, enough complaining. I've got 4 more days to get it done. Persistance pays off, right?

Yeah your right, persistence and patience will get you a bird more times than not, that's my thought anyway.
Change things up one day, sleep in and go in later....the season is nearing the end and the birds have changed their patterns some. I find sometimes a change in my schedule is just what does the trick, you never know.
As far as guys cutting you off, I've had that happen a handful of times in the last 3 years and it is very frustrating, makes no sense to me, I'll leave and hunt somewhere else for an hour or so then come back later and try those birds again.
