45 cal. APEX
From what I've been reading on here, I guess I'm kind of lucky.I just purchased a new Apex ss, camo, 45 cal. mag. This is my firstBlack Powder soI'm confused on amount of powder and bullet weight.I did purchase a box of 777 and 209 primers, but not sure on which bullet to use. I'll be shooting any ware from 50 yards to 200 yards. Any help, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First off ... welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new rifle. I really have no experience with the .45 caliber Apex or any other .45 caliber. If it were me with the rifle, I would get some shockwaves in .45 caliber. I would load 100 grains of powder and see how they shot. I would also get some XTP's in what every weight the .45's come in and try them also. After that I might get me some powerbelts and see how they shoot them.
What I am trying to say is, about all you can do is try different loads until you find the right one. Again, welcome and keep us posted on how the rifle is doing.

I happen to like .45's for a yet unknown reason. Give 100 grains 777 and a 250 grain QT from Precision Bullet a try. The 200 grain Shockwave with the same dose of 777 is also a good shooter. I just picked up some PRB dead center 195 grain and can't wait to see if the can match the accuracy of the QT's.
