Question About Shockwave Sabots
I recently purchased a 50 caliber T/C Omega Z5 muzzleloader. It came with the starter kit. In this kit therewere 10 Shockwave sabots but no where on the packaging or in any of the included literature does itlist the grain weight of these sabots. I am certain that they are either 200 or250 as I have seen a 300 grain Hornady SST sabot (Basically the same bullet)and these are not that big. I do not have a grain weight scale. The riflegroups them greatwith two 50 grain 777 pellets so I would like to order more of them but not knowing the proper grain weight has got me held up.Can anybody help a blackpowder newbie like me out here? Also if it turns out that they are only 200 grain would that be too light for use on Alabama whitetails? Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
P.S I think this muzzleloading stuff just might be highly addictive! I had a blast sighting this gun in.

RE: Question About Shockwave Sabots
First if you know that they are not 300gr and they have black sabots then they are 250 gr. Second the 200gr have the 50/40 blue sabot. They are all excellant for deer the 50/40 200gr is a 50 cal. sabot a 40 cal. bullet and has very good sectional density and balistic coefficant. Some people have complain about them but in my Omega I have had excellt results with them at 2000 fps 125 gr RS for the 250 gr they seem to work very nice for me on deer and boar. If or when I have the chance to go for elk or moose I will use the bonded ones for deer I like the regular yellow tipped ones. Lee

RE: Question About Shockwave Sabots
If they were the yellow sabots ... then they were the 250 grain Super Glide combination. Like said, if the sabot was blue then they were 200 grain, I doubt they would have went to the 300 grain in their kit. Good luck with the rifle.

RE: Question About Shockwave Sabots
They are yellow tipped bullets with a black sabot. If the 200 grain bullets come with a blue colored sabot then that settles it then. Thesemust be the 250 grain. Thanks guys. Always nice to be able to lean on folks that know more than you.
