I used the cva mag bolt for two years before I got my Encore. I had real good results with 100 grains of clean shot pushing a 295 grain powerbelt. Couldnt get the powerbelts to group going over 100 grains. I also had good results w/150 grains of pyrodex pushing a 220 grain barnes sabot.

RAYFERD:NEVER SHOT A CHARGE OF 150 GRAIN.MAX IS 120GRAINS OF CLEAR SHOT. I REALLY THINK YOU WILL WASTE A LOT OF UNBURN POWDER FROM A 24 INCH. BARREL TO BURN COMPLETE 150 GRAINS OF LOOSE POWDER. 150 GRAIN CHARGE ARE PYRODEX PELLTES ONLY.AND THEY COAST A LOT MORE FOR PELLETS

I shoot 100 gr. loose clean shot with a 300 gr. Hornady bullet and sabot it gets about 1 1/2 groups at 100 yds,I use a dry swab after every shot,They're hard to load but they shoot better in my gun.I also got pretty good groups with 240 gr. Hornady bullets but they came apart in a deer so I switched to the 300 gr. They held together better.

get good results with:
225 grain power-belt
3 50grain pyrodex pellets
209 primer
took one at 130 yds complete pass through with exit hole the size of a tennis ball.
I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest
remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.
