Give me some Home-MadeMuzzle-Loader Cleaning Solution Recipes, what they work best on (777, black powder, Pioneer, etc), and any special directions for use.

What kind of rifle are you shooting? Triple Se7en will clean up with plain old water followed by your regular rifle cleaning procedure in a modern gun. A bucket with a little soapy water with a hooked breech rifle followed by some clean water is good for traditional guns.

Pretty much all rifles you can field clean with some alchohol patches at the range. I use some of those $.50 spray bottles found at walmart to put my field cleaning solutions in.

Some people like mixing in glass cleaner with the alchohol, I guess that would work just fine. My son uses straight alchohol for field cleaning, I use T/C #13 and then an alchohol patch to help dry everything followed by a another dry patch.

For lead bullets/powder/primer fouling-- not copper or plastic fouling.

6oz rubbing alcohol
1/2oz Simple Green
1/2oz Rain Dance car soap
1/2oz Murphys Oil Soap

I used my wife's empty yellow "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray bottlethat has a blue nozzle cap & holds eight ounces. Poured the alcohol in first - then real slowly poured the rest with a funnel. After I got it all in - Ishook it well. You can use a Fantastik, Windex... any kind of spray bottle with a wide misty spray.

Works fine for cleaning MLs!

50/50 91% alk.&windsheild warsher is popular here also the windex with vinegar is well liked.
I use the version of buffalow milk that calls for water soluble oil lyesoap
and water I mix the water soluble oil according to the directions for drilling
then if I can not get a hold of some lye soap I substitute bluebarrel or dawn lemon dish soap. I have use some variation of this for black powder since about 1949 when my grandfather gave me my first muzzleloader.

I usually use just dish detergent and water, but I like to experiment. Never learn anything new if I don't try something new.

For in-lines we keep a bucket of soapy water in the shop.Take a shotgun cleaning rod with the handle cut off andattach anylon 20ga brush. Install rod in a cordless drill. Place muzzle in water/soap, then from the breech run the brush in and out. Rinse with fresh water, then dry, lube, etc.
