I hear ya about the heat, I'm planning an early morning shoot tomorrow, supposed to hit the mid 90's later in the day...liquid bore butter..LOL

Think I'll give 3F a try with the GPs, that gun can't weigh much over 5 lbs so I can only push them so fast befor I start twitching...

Doug, you might want to also email Dan at Bull Shop to see what he might have or be able to make up for you. http://bullshop.gunloads.com/index.html

You'll definitely like his pricing.

Yep, he makes EXCELLENT bullets. Cayugad and several others can attest to that. If you order anything from him though, specify pure lead and his #2 lube.

Cayugad: The bullets are way cheap from him, but what did you have to pay for shipping the whole case? Looks like it is $10 for 1 box so that would not be a good deal.

Thanks for the sources, keep them comming:

3-7, Those PR bullets sure do fit what I'm looking for but unless I'm mistaken, they are a dollar each, that's a little much for me. Thanks for the info, and at the other site as well..

Eldequello,

I'm looking into them, and will try them. Don't know how I missed them on Cabella's..

Lonewolf,

I sent that guy an email, thanks

Doug
Doug, I have a very slowwww twist .50 (1/72") that was made to shoot round balls, but it does shoot well withthose 370-grain Maxi-Balls, which are longer than those 300-grain "CVA Buckslayer" bullets. So the 300 grain CVA'sshould shoot OK in that slow twist barrel. (This barrel also works well with a 250-grain Lee R.E.A.L. bullet, but IMO 250 is too light in a .50.)

Please let us know what you find out when you start using the lighter bullets.....

Cayugad the 385gr GP is what I'm shooting and you have seen my posted target at 100yds. 1-32 twist 70gr.T7 3F. I stopped looking for antthing else to shoot. I have yet to shoot a deer with this load but it has done a number on several hogs.

Well I will have to try that load as well. I sure have enough of them to play with now. Even after a day of shooting, I still have 680 of them to test different loads. I will try them again in my CVA Stalker with the load you mentioned and see what happens. Do you swab between shots?

Yes, I get the dreaded T7 crud ring if I go more than 2 or 3 rounds without swabbing. Really doesn't get too bad though, a spit patch will usually clean it up well enough in the field.

txhunter58, that 10 dollar shipping will work for up to around 500 bullets, more or less depending upon what weight(s) you get. And they are superbly packaged.
