Default Source for 308 Brass

I have shot my 308 brass almost to the point I should quit. I need to replace it. I see everyone raves about Norma. But its like $75/100 pieces. this is not for competition but more for a hunting rilfe. Is Lapua any good in brass? Is it anybetter than remington or winchester? Just trying to decide if hunting ammo needs such extreeme brass.

Yea, I think that is a little steep. The brass I got which is about 500 pieces has been reloaded 4 times. With some of it, I am starting to see a few flyers. Which is expected.

The stuff I use is a mix bag anyway. Got some LC, Hornady, Federal, and Remington and winchester. I have always liked the Federal so its the stuff shot 4 or 5 times. The winchester the least only used maybe twice. The hornady stuff ain't bad either.

I am just trying to figure out if the lapua stuff is good. Its pretty competitve priced at $35/100 pieces. I like to buy it in lots of 500.

Yeah, I'm shooting a mixed bag too. I got a pot full of brass from a freind of mine, most is once fored and I figure to use it a couple three times before buying some new Remington brass.

Remington has served me well for many years.

I have 300 once fired remington 308 cases once those are used up I have 120 winchester nickel plated cases then when those are used I have 100 PMP cases I also have 60 federal cases. I have a ton of other brass a mixed box of about 6,000 winchester and remington 30-06 cases and a bag of about 400 winchester 243 cases. another bag of 200 mixed winchester and remington 30-30 and a box of about 10,000 mixed PMC and winchester .223 brass. I have way to much of 30-06 and 223 will trade or sell LOL. Have any of you ever used PMP brass? is it any good? I bought a case of PMP 180 grain soft point 308's the factory ammo isnt very good other then for hunting but the brass seems decent.

Thanks guys for the info. I think I will forget about norma brass. I just can't go that high for it for hunting. I found a guy here in MD, that is an armorer for a SWAT team that is selling me 1000pieces of federal gold metal brass for 75 dollars. And he will let me inspect it well.

FYI if the Hornady brass is labeled "Frontier" it's actually Winchester brass. If it actually has Hornady's Logo on it it was made in Grand Island Nebraska in the Hornady plant.....and is actually very fine brass as well.

I got some frontier brass. Is it supposed to be any good? Reason I asked is I had 40 sitting around, that only had one firing thru them. Since the rest of my brass has been shot so many times, I figured I would load up this stuff for my TSX 150gr testing and load workup. I didn't have good luck with the load. Wondering if the brass was good. I got from a buddy who shot light magnums from Hornady.
