Omega Comb
The comb on this new Omega is to low for me... I would be just fine with open sights or even 32" objective lens... but when you mount a 42mm objective on top of medium Warne rings, it is very difficult for me to get on the scope comfortably - my cheek is off the stock or just barely touching...
Question? what is the best way to get the comb to heigth you need??? I know there are several products out there but what do you think is the best one?

I have Morgan adjustable pads on my shotguns but I am not understanding how this will make the distance from the center of the scope to the comb of the stock any different.
I can get squarely on the scope now if I raise my cheek off the comb... If I move the stock up or down I can not see how this will get me down on the stock. I do not feel comfortable unless I am down on the stock... and when I get there of course the site picture is gone....

RE: Omega Comb
sabotloader,
I don't have the Morgan adj. pad or any experience using one, but if you lowered the pad that would bring the stock up....wouldn't it?? Maybe I've got my head on backwards....don't anyone answer that.

It would and it does, but the scope moves with it. I have it in my lap right now and tried kinda what you are suggesting, but again the scopes moves up also...
I am toying with the ideal of cutting a section of the comb off and placing a filler underneath then add the top of the comb back on - or installing an adjustable comb like you would have or might have on a trap shotgun.
I am just looking for thoughts...
I checked Brownells and they have a couple add ons that have some interest in.
I guess another question might be does anyone else have a problem with the Omega comb?

sabotloader,
You are correct....I didn't think it through. What scope are you using and why not change the scope to one with asmaller objective and lower your rings? You must really like this scope, I guess.
I had this same problem and I know how it feels to take your cheek off the stock to look through your scope. I had an 870Remington with a rifled slug barreland thecantilever scope mount. The scope was a 2-7X32 Leupold and the rings were as low aspossible. I ended up selling the barrel, because I didn't like taking my cheek off the stock.
I could have bought the cheek pad, but I really wasn't interested in barrel that much anyway.A friend of mine lost his job and I bought the barrel to help him out. Ikept the scope...it's sweet.
Modifying the stock to make it adjustable sounds like an interesting project.

RE: Omega Comb
My Encore and Omega are leaning sise by side right now and as I look at them I find two interesting things. One is obvious the comb is alot bigger and higher but the second thing surprized me cause I never looked at the two to compair. The wrist on the Omega is tiny compaired to the Encore and initial drop on the stock is much more on the Encore.
I think the Omega was made for a smaller framed person. (just a guess)
If the stock was shorter you could almost hide my Omega behind the Encore.

I am using a 3x9x40 Bushnell Elite 3200 which I really do like. Weather here in Idaho really can be the pits and with the Elite scope covers are rarely needed. It is mounted on an Omega with a Warne Base and Warne Medium heigth rings. Low rings are not an option as the objective end of the scope would not fit without running into the barrel.
They make some really neat little gadgets that you can intall in the stock and the comb to allow you to adjust it to what ever heighth you want. I was thinking about doing some other stock work to it anyway. The forearm is really smooth. iworry about it somewhat during hunting season and in wet weather...so I was thinking about sending it through the shaperand cut in some sort of a rolled grip. That would not be to difficult at all. Might just have to do the comb also....
