I just wanted to say thank you to all the guys/gals on here that have posted in my opinion some really helpful info. on the encore ml! i settled in with a 250 gr. shockwave and 2 50gr. 777 pellets and i shot a 3 shot 1 hole group 4" high at 50yds and a 3 shot 1 hole group at 100 yds dead-on! I put a weaver 3.5x10x50 grand slam scope on it and im so happy with the whole set up. I also shoot a knight disc rifle and the same load works ok for that gun as well (3" groups but im gonna play with that one a little more because of more info i got from here) I just wanted ya'll to know that your posts on here have really helped & saved me a Pi$$ load of money tryin to get it right on my own the 1st time out to the range (im impatient). Please keep up the posting on all your different loads that you try in your different guns
Thanx

rem700man.. WOW!! you really tuned in fast and with a good powerful load. It sounds like you are all set to go. That load your shooting is more then enough for anything you want to hunt. That I guess shows the quality of the rifle and your personal skill level at making a black powder rifle do what you want it to. Congratulations on a good rifle.

Rem,
That is the same loadI used in my Encore last year. You might want to shoot it a bit more. With 4 inches high at 50 with this load you should still be about 3 inches high at 100, not dead on. Nothing to complain about, just to be aware of. It shoots much flatter than what you indicate and could cause you to miscalculate out past 100 yards. I haven't gotten mine out of the safe yet, still bow season here now, but if I remember correctly, my scope was set for 2 inches high at 100 yards giving me 6 inches low at 200.
The two 50 grain pellets of 777 w/ a 250 grain Shockwave is a no doubt super load. I am going to try to go to 120 grains of loose 777 this year to flatten out the trajectory a little more and use the pellets for being able to quickly reload, using a power belt as the bullet because they reload easy. Of course, accuracy with the powerbelt will be nowhere close to the shockwave, but good enuff for any finish shots if needed (didn't need any last year).
