Cayugad, I have always used Remington "Bore Cleaner" on all myweapons and
especially on all shotgun barrels. It tells you on the front of the plastic bottle:
Removes Lead, Copper, Carbon, and Plastic-Wad Fouling. Contains no CFC'S,
fast and easy to use. I buy it at Wal-Mart.

Any of the quality bore cleaners like the Remington you describe should work just fine... For a long time I used Hoppies. I guess I tried them all until poster Triple Se7en told me about Birchwood Casey products. As usual with his recommendations, he was right on the money and I have never looked back. Their Bore Scrubber to remove the hard to get stuff and Birchwood Casey Sheath has to be oneof the best gun oils I've ever used. I rate it right up there with Rem Oil with Teflon.
