I don't knowthat is really a nice looking gun! And really the price is not that bad...

Wish I had the money right now.

I agree Sabotloader. I'd love to see one up close and personal. A 12 fluted stainless barrel plus checkered laminated wood stock? The price seems very reasonable. For sure you're not going to run across another guy with one at the range or in the woods.

The Elite is one of Knight's most accurate rifles. I personally do NOT like the looks of the stock. But I could live with it. As for the .54 caliber, that's all fine and good but I do not like fast twist .54 caliber rifles. Although the price is sure right...

Throw a nice Leupold scope on there and you'd have a heck of a firearm.

Semisane, you buy one and ... I will (think about it) consider it.

I have to agree Cayugad, that's a beaut. I wish you could see it better. I don't know why GM uses such small pictures on their site. By the way, I sent them an e-mail asking why they don't make a .58 round ball drop in barrel for the GP flinter. I'd bet they could sell a gang of those.

The .58 is not as popular as you might think. Many claim the .54 is a better caliber. I am not one of them. My .58 caliber Green Mountain Barrel that fits my Renegade is one great shooting rifle.

The problem with the .58 is they take around 110 grains of powder for the hunting load, and the ball (unless you cast your own) is expensive to purchase. They only sell you 50 in a pack for about what you'd pay for 100 of the .54 caliber.

I had a friend that hunted for years with a .58 caliber and when he shot a deer, it just flopped over. 284 grain roundballs tend to expand and leave real large holes. What I would like is a .62 caliber rifled barrel. I have been thinking of getting a 1841 rifled musket in .69 caliber. I think that would be a lot of fun to own and shoot.

I thought about getting one of those .58 GMs for my Renegade caplock. Wish I had done that, instead of the .45 LRH barrel that I got. I'd really like a .58 flintlock though.
