Good to know. I will watch for them. Our Wally World does not put out their muzzle loader stock until fall (why I have no idea) but maybe I can alert the manager of the department. We have become well known to each other.

Randy Wakeman commented on the Kleanbores recently elsewhere. Here was his statement.......
"Winchester 209s work well, and fit most breechplugs the best. Federals are hotter, larger OD, and get you a few FPS for "free." Avoid the 209-4 Remingtons, now renamed Kleenbore. "
and
"According to the Remington ammo plant, their so-called new 'Kleanbore' primer is the same old 209-4 .410 primer. Now billed as a muzzleloading primer, it will be more money. "
This was in reference to their use in a Savage 10ml....perhaps he will comment further if he comes across this post.

jcchartboy,
Not to disagree with Randy but I have been using 209-4 for several years now, never have had any problems (with triple seven). Actually I am working on my fifth brick of them. My Wal-Mart has been able to supply with these primers all along. There may me some concern in sub-freezing weather about them being hot enough, but so far, nock on wood, they have worked for me. + no crud ring...

If a #11 cap will ignite a powder charge (loose) in sub freezing weather, I think Sabotloader is right on the money with the idea that a 209 primer no matter how toned down it is from the hotter ones will ignite most powders. Perhaps Randy's concern was the amount of fire in regards to smokeless powder. I have no experience with smokeless powder in a muzzleloader. Perhaps in that case you want as much fire as possible, which if you think about it would actually make sense.
I sure hope our local Wally World will get them in, I want to try some of them. Otherwise I will look for the lower powered Winchester that are supposed to be hitting the market any time now....
