I tried the 50 cal. 375 buffalo SST today in my 54 cal t/c thunderhawk and it seem I need a thicker sabot.I was using the red harvester sabot in 54 cal. they seem to slide down the barrel to easy I new they were going to give me a problem as soon as I loaded the first round.I did not swap between shots to try to foul the barrel ,that did not work, anyone know who makes a thicker diameter?
I also tried the sabots in white and the noslers orange sabot the sabot has to be a little larger.

Did you buy these as a .50 caliber package like I did, and then change sabots? I have no experience with the .54 caliber sabots. I will say that they do not load all that hard in my rifles as a .50 caliber projectile. They are very accurate though.
Maybe someone else can help you lonewolf.

cayugad SAME ONE I SWAP THE BLACK BUFFALO SABOT THAT THE SSB SIT IN AND REPLACE IT WITH THE HARVERSTER 54 RED SABOT,THE HARVESTER SABOT SAYS 451 DIAMETER BUT THE BULLET INTO THE SABOT AND STILL THEY SLIDE DOWN VERY EASY,TOO EASY
I MAY TRY THEM IN MY 50 CAL. T/C HAWKENS AND SEE HOW THEY SHOOT
CAYUGAD I ALSO SHOT TODAY HUNTERMAN 451 MAG. TIP WITH 90 GRAINS OF GOEX 3F ,THEY GROUPE OUTSTANDING BOTH THE 250 AND THE 300 GRAINER ,I JUST MAY HAVE TO ORDER FROM MARK THE MAG TIPS.

I found the sabot ,but don't know who makes them, they are the blue sabot on the Precision 45 QT'S 451 diameter
I had a couple of QT'S left and swap the SSB into them and sent them down the barrel without a charge ,nice tight fit
The co2 discharger is a great little tool

the blue sabots I think I remember someone saying they are MMP. Triple Se7en will be able to tell you more or sabotshooter. They know every kind of sabot out there on the market. Me, I found one that works and stuck with it and never changed sabots since. I might change to a lot of projectiles, but the Thompson Center Mag Express Sabots really shoot good in my rifles as do the Knight Sabots...

The blue sabot from Precision Bullet works with 40-caliber bullets. Not intended for a 54-cal rifle.
The SSB bullets are undersized.... usually .449 ballpark. The thickest 45/54 plastic sabot I'm aware of are the white Hornadys.
