They finaly sent me a reply yesterday the guy aid you can shoot sabot as well as Thank sabot slugs, you can used 00buckshot , field loads, or heavy magnum loads

I was told my the walmart sales guy the gander mountain sales guy an most of you said you could only use sabots in a rifled barrel whats up does the Mossberg guy not know what he is talking about or are most of us wrong

Here is there complete email
Thank you for your e-mail. Yes, with the rifle barrel you can used sabot slugs, you can used 00buckshot , field loads, or heavy magnum loads. . Please note the most important factor when choosing a shotgun is proper gun fit. The best advise I can give you would be to visit your local dealer and see what shotgun fits you better and then go from there. Go ahead and provide me your address so I can send you a catalog so you can see the 500 pump actions that we offer and have good for hunting purposes. Please reply along with this e-mail.

Yea you CAN use any other loads you want in a rifled slug barrel except for steel shot. As for how well it patterns with the shot. I tryed buckshot in my Mossberg 835 and im getting about a 20in pattern at 10 yards. I use it for home defense with turkey loads now.
