Can we add a new rule? How about, as long as contestants are taking pics of their targets, to put a ruler alongside the 2 farthest bullets to give and indication of the group size? Some guys may not put all 3 in the bull but may have a very good group.
I guess Sunday if it isn't raining, I will put forth my effort to post a target or two. Going to try to duplicate the .45s target from a couple months ago and unleash the fury of the .54 on that 3" black dot.

LOL, that's what I was going for since I knew my scope wasn't zeroed, but I blew it with shot 3.

I put a measuring tape on mine. I didn't have a ruler.

you could always use the 3" stick on target and just trace that circle, did that, work well.

would coloring them work too?

I'll give it a whirl. Shooting off hand is a humbling experience.

I can't remember the last time I shot at a target with out a rest. The end of the barrel sure was dancing around. Good thing the trigger is very light. All I had to do is touch it when the sights were close to the dot.

OK, here's my attempt.

I decided to use my peep sighted .58 TC/GM Hawken because I wanted to play around with some different size balls after the offhand shoot.

First, I put one of my regular targets out at 50 yards and took five shots from the bench to check the sights and my load.

Here's the bench target.




PRETTY DARN GOOD, HUH? (No, I can't always shoot it quite that well. I must have been having a particularly good day.)


Then I put a plain sheet out at 50 yards with a 3" dot and shot three off hand.

Here's the offhand target.



I thought I had missed the paper entirely with shot #2 because I could not see a hole from the bench.

When I walked up to the target I was darn glad to see that little half moon cut on the right edge, so I at least knew where that shot went.

That's interesting. A 6 1/8 inch spread left to right, and what looks like only about 3/8 inch spread up and down. How did you manage that?

Wish I would have read this yeaterday before shooting, I would have added an offhand target - found the load so would have been good test
