I agree with everything that noway said.
I would still bring the bi-pod. Ask the outfitter what his typical day of hunting is like? I am guessing he will say we are on horseback & riding 1 to 2-hours before daylight. You will ride to a certain spot & wait for legal shooting time. You will ride some more, then you will tie up the horses & hunt on foot. You will hunt on foot most of the morning.
The evening hunt is where I think you will might want the bi-pod? Most outfitters will take you to a spot in the evening where you will just sit & wait. You will glass a open park that the elk feed in. This is where a bi-pod is nice to have. Do you need a bi-pod? NO but a solid rest is nice to have.
Your bi-pod most likely will not get used. I have only used mine twice elk hunting. Could I have gotten by without it? Yes. Was I glad I had it at the time? Yes. Do I still carry one? Yes.
Good luck,
WK

one other thing to consider that I think I read on hear before is to wear the right kind of clothes for the horse riding. If I remember right you don't want jeans with the seam on the inside or it will rub the inside of your legs raw. If that happens, it will be just as bad as blisters on your feet. It will even make it tought to walk. My dad has taken along a shooting stick that he uses as a walking stick too. He also shot a 6x6 using a plastic bypod that clamps onto your barell (carry it in your pocket...its very light... and put it on when you are sitting or if you have time when you stalk one).
