Mule Deer Preference Points
I have 4 Colorado mule deer preference points..I have killed 2 pretty good bucks(during Elk Hunts) I may add. Should I cash in these points and go for Plains Mulies next year or keep accumulating them for a good Public unit? Any thoughts.

RE: Mule Deer Preference Points
With 4 points you should be able to draw something good in the Mountains. I went on a high country hunt (rifle, early Sept) last year and got a nice one. Most of these timberline hunts can be had for 4 points. Bottom line is that you don't have to have more points to get into a good unit. I also know a guy that is DA MAN in the know for timberline bucks. He helped me get mine (29" 8x7). He has a business called Antlerquest. He is not a guide, but scouts out areas/honey holes for you. http://hometown.aol.com/antlerquest1.../business.html
Also, I also sent you a private message with further info.

RE: Mule Deer Preference Points
Hi OldE
I wouldn't burn points on a plains hunt. I received a buck tag AND a point, taking the point as first choice, the last two years, for plains bucks. Much of the land is private anyway. A friend of mine runs a ranch and lets me on. Save the points for those timberline muleys!!!
Good Luck
