HI,

you should give ANDREW LAKE LODGE a call, the price is 4,250.00 for a fly in( then add for tax, license & your air fare from home----he has his own plane to fly you to the lodge--included in price) you could stay at the main lodge or spike camp-------I am penciled in with him right know for fall 2006
try his web site----www.andrew lake lodge.com

Makoman, I hunted with Andrew Lake outfitters. I took a nice moose, but it was the only bull I saw in a week. This is just my opinion, but I think they overhunted the area around the main lodge. I don't know what they have anywhere else. In contrast, I saw over twenty moose when hunting with BC Safaris in September, and the rut wasn't even in yet.

The people at Andrew Lake Lodge were really nice, and the fishing was everything I could have asked for. A buddy and I returned and hunted bear there. While there, we fished for northers. One day for a period of about four hours, we landed a pike on every cast.

Here's wishing you lots of luck. One thing is for sure. You will enjoy the trip. If you get a moose, that would be a bonus.

Andrew lake lodge is actually located very close to where I live.Patrkyhntr is correct in his comparison of moose numbers. You will likely see more moose every day in northern B.C than you will see during an entire hunt with andrew lake lodge.

stubblejumper, I am coming up your way in May for a bear hunt. Up your way might be stretching it a bit. We are hunting in the High Level area.

Thanks for your input on ANDREW LAKE LODGE, I might have to change my plans. I will call the #s you provided and really consider B.C.----STUBBLE JUMPER, I will be in FORT MCMURRAY MAY 20, 2005 for bear with 5 friends & hunting with DALE MCKINNON OUTFITTERS (Have you head of him)---------we should meet for a beer/story telling.

THANKS

Makoman-I have heard of Dale Mckinnon but do not know him personally nor can I tell you much about his outfit. In this area though, the bear population is so high that almost any outfitter shoud be able to put you onto bears.

I am planning a moose hunt (un-guided) +fishing in Alaska this Sept. It will be 5K + air+ licences. If I'm not mistaken moose in AK must be NLT 54" and 3 brow tines? I'll look it up before I go. I've been in this area before for fishing (sockeyes, rainbows, grayling, char) great time.

Newfondland has a lot of moose. I don't know about 50 inchers but if I lived in East USA and wanted a "good moose" at a reasonable price I would go to "the rock".

If I wanted a "great moose" and was willing to pay, I might go to B.C. or Alaska.

If I wanted a great fishing trip and a chance at a good moose and/or a bear, I might go to Andrew lake lodge in N. Alberta.

As it is I live in west-centeral Alberta and can shoot an "eating bull" moose 15 min. from my front door if I can get drawn for a tag.
