Default Sizing up Moose

I' m curious if there are any " tricks to the trade" for sizing up moose from afar. For instance, with elk you can get a pretty good reading on them with a quick count of points after sword point (and the mass up there) With antelope, I' m told you look for ones where the antler split is above his ears. How the heck do you tell a 36" moose from a 46" moose at 500 yds? Here' s one idea I had..I' ll drive to long sticks in the ground 5 feet apart then get the moose to run between ' em. If his antlers hit both sides he' s a shooter

All I can say is all moose are big but, a 50" , 5 year old+ bull is in a different category from those smaller guys. He has a body shape and antler mass that clearly even from afar makes him stand out. A 3 year old bull looks big but a 5+ year lod looks like a boxcar.
