I am thinking of hitting this unit this fall for a DIY back country elkhunt. I ahve just started to research, but any tips from peoplre who have been in that unit would be appreciated.

I'm trying to find out if its a good deer unit. I found a 195" pick up head and want to know if there are more than what I saw when I hunted elk there. I hunted it for 2 weekends, had a friend backpack up there for 8 days and only saw 3 elk. I averaged about 2 elk a weekend. During muzzy season it gets hit pretty hard by outfitters. Steep unit, good luck
