the best hunting rifle, I think is probably either the 7mm(which i voted) or the -06. Done well with both, but exclusively use the 7mm anymore, mainly for a little more flat trajectory. But I wish I could a little heavier bullet when it comes to Elk. But I use 160 Nosler part. and they rip as good a hole as any ought six does.

Hey someone voted for 8mm -- I assume 8mm Remington Mag -- it is beyond me why that round never took off.

My favorite rifle is Browning A Bolt hunter (270 win ) with premium bullets of 150grains. (Noslers,Swift A FRAMES,FAIL SAFES,BARNS X Bullets etc.)I have shot moose with it, and alot of deer. The moose have been within 175 yrds. Shot placement is the most important, when hunting the bigger animals. I mostly hunt deer. If I go on hunting trips up north. I bring my 2nd favorite rifle. Browning A bolt composite stalker (300 win mag) good for the bigger deer other animals which Iam hunting.

I bagged a huge Buffalo in Montana last year with one shot from the .338, just an overall good round for big game. My buffalo was 2500 pounds, things dont get much bigger on this continent, so that round should suffice for anything nearby.

This little poll is too much fun to let it slip away.

7 Mag for me. Taken many deer (whitetail and a few mulies), elk & caribou.

If you were going to add one caliber to this poll that is not posted, what would it be?
