I went with a euro. mount for two main reasons, size and cost. I'm running out of wall space for mounts and really only have one place that a shoulder mounted moose would fit, BUT I already have an elk and mule deer in that spot and finding a spot for the elk would then become a problem. The cost of my erou. mount was covered by the cape that I tradedto the taxidermist. Traded cape straight across for the euro. to be done. Then the shippiong cost for Anchorage, AK. to CO. was another concideration. The euro. cost me over $300 for shipping and to ship a shoulder mount was going to be closer to $800. I'm not dissapointed with my euro. mount and I also have to antelope that are euro. mounted. This is a 65"+ yukon moose.

Congrats on the moose! I'd love to see some pics as well showing options. Crazy to see the price difference between a moose mount in 2008 when this thread started compared to today. My taxi charges $1800 for a moose mount.

My taxidermist charges $2,000 plus taxes for a shoulder mounted moose. I had a moose rack done on a plaque that was 51 inches and with low ceilings it was right for me. Just the rack takes up a lot of room.. I can hardly wait for my shoulder mounted buck to get back from there.
