I have shot my husband's 30-06 & a friends as well. I don't mind the recoil from the weapon but there was no point in having 2 of the same caliber in one household or so the thought was at the time. Ha! That has changed!
I have also shot my brother's .308, I have also shot another friends 300 win mag and another's 470 NE, these are not the guns I'd want to carry or shoot very often.
She's going to have to carry it more than shoot it. If there's a NRA Women On Target event in your area get her there! If not then maybe some local ranges might have different calibers for her to try.
Every weapon I have ever purchased has been based on how it feels in my hands. Then I made a more informed decision.
