Here's the short of the story.
Day 1 - Get to camp, get muzzleloader resighted in because used as a hockey stick in Canada, I see first caribou of trip 2 miles away to the south of camp across the lake. That wound up being the ridge of importance later in the week!!!!
Day 2 - Hunted all day, only 1 bou seen amongst 13 hunters. Rainy, windy, cold. Did see some ptarmigan and a golden eagle!
Day 3 - Blew 40 plus over night! Fished/hunted until noon near camp because the weather sucked. I hooked a NICE lake trout which promptly broke me off in the rocks. My buddy Dave caught 2, including a 24" one he is getting mounted. Hunted behind camp until 7, we saw nothing. I guy saw 2 and got one!
Day 4 (September 7th) - The Lord opened the flood gates! By 9:30 am started seeing hundreds of bou in the distance. By noon-12:30 my buddy Dave and I are tagged out. 2 shots, 2 bou for my m/l. Still bou everywhere. 5 hours from last kill until they were loaded in the boat at the bottom of the mountain! Only 7 of 26 tags left in camp
Day 5 - Still bou everywhere, did a lot of videoing. Only 1 tag left in camp.
Day 6 - Still bou everywhere. Fished but no luck. More videography. No tags left in camp.
Day 7 - More videography, still bou. Plane arrived just after 2 to take us to Umuijaq. Got to go into the village. Got to Montreal about 9 in the room by 10 something.
Day 8 - Montreal to Chambersburg, Pa with stop at Taxidermist. Glad to get out of Quebec (mainly Montreal) and into Ontario and then into the US.
Day 9- Got home and got to see my wife for the first time since Aug 18.
The Lord really blessed us. I couldn't have dreamed a better trip!

Steve,
First off this is my first guided hunt. Leaving the bou and weather out of it (because they have no control over either), I'd say 8 of 10. Food was great, boats were good, guides worked hard, the provided sleeping bags were fair, cabins were great considering where you are, the oil heating is good, shower was good with plenty of hot water. Now we hit the migration at a peak so we saw tons of caribou which was a plus. I was pleased with the size of the bulls and they say the big ones aren't there yet. The camp (Min) we were at had only fair to slow fishing while we were there. I heard it is a better boat fishing camp. I've heard other camps are better for that. I personally saw 15-20 ptarmigan and could have killed them if I had something other than my m/l. I think there were 2 guys with sg licenses that killed 4 or so ptarmigan. There were at least 3 maybe 4 bears seen, 1 sow with a yearling and another bear (maybe 1 more). I know at Oma, there was a bear taken while we were up there. I would say a small game license would be worth it but for me, I didn't see the bear sign that made me wish I had bought a license.
