I'll take alberta and saskatchewan. The percentage of deer harvested that make B&C are higher here than anywhere else.

Well I think that Kansas would be on the top as we take many 200in mule deer and some nice 150 to 160 range whitetails and my second choose would half to be N.W. Nebraska were there are some huge mule deer in the rolling sandhills and some really nice whitetail running the creek and river bottoms As a outfitter this would be my first choose as a hunter

I think that any state with a good deer population has the potential to be a good &quot;trophy&quot; state. Nevada has a limited draw for mule deer, even for residents. The result is a limited number of hunters going after so many deer. Nevada does produce some great bucks, but then so does every other state in the nation. You just have to have the knowledge and patience to find the big one.
P.S.- Nevada is the best, because 87% of the state is public land, and the majority of the big bucks do come off public land, something that many other states have a hard time doing.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Living in Alberta(with 2 bucks in the book) I would have to say Ab. and Sask. are great places to hunt BIG bucks (Whitetail or Mule deer) but he asked for a State.

Looking through a couple Fair Chase Magazines (Boone & Crocketts Clubs News Letter) I see these numbers for recent record book enteries:
Wisconsin 32
Iowa 32
Illinois 31
Saskatchewan 26
Kansas 17
Kentucky 10
Texas 9
Alberta 8

It would be interesting to put the number of hunters beside each state and province. Like Stubblejumper eluded to Sask. then Alberta would have the lowest # of hunters I think.

Good hunting
Robin.
