I thought I had John's score figured out but went slightly higher.. I guess the numbers on the spur lengths are not showing up very good or something???

Congrats though John it is deffinately a gobbler to be proud of!

Now I am wondering how the rest of our team members are doing?? Any of you doing any hunting yet? If so how has things been going?? I know our team would like to hear from everyone just to see how things have been going..

j76, have you happened to hear from some of our team members on anything yet? I know there are plenty of team members that have not mentioned anything for quite some time.. I am thinking it is close to half of the team?? We would love to hear how things are going as well as if they had any hunting in yet at all??
Thanks, I guess I am just ranting on because it sure would be nice to hear from them once and a while..

Sorry, but having a little trouble getting your score to come out right. Kinda hard to see your numbers. Correct me where i'm coming up wrong, this is what i have
15 #s
10 1/4 beard
1 1/8 rs
1 1/4 ls
with these numbers i come up with 59.25. Let me know where my mistake is.
Get after em Wilcam! Things will get better for ya!
Good luck this weekend Mottz!
6 days to go here!!

according to his score card he has the weight at 15lb 4 oz

It is good to hear from you snapper! I do see you post once and a while.. But we still have 4 or 5 more that we do not get to hear much from and I am just wondering that is all.. Mine still has a week from Monday.. I am thinking it will be a great season as well. I am hoping so at least!

j76 not sure what I did, you are right 59.25.

I get the measurements mixed up.

Thanks for checking it. I hope you guys get on the board and give some good stories. I am going thru withdraws already.

Thanks John, it still surely is a nice bird to get tagged out on..

I am hoping to help out once my season opens up.. I took a little drive this morning and saw 2 jakes and a few hens. As I went along farther I saw a real nice long bearded tom with a couple of hens. I thought I did ok seeing them as it was a lite rain and the wind was picking up.. So I am thinking that perhaps that area may produce if we have a windy day as it was a wooded area just down from a steep bank.. I will be checking it out better when our season gets closer..

Just figured out how to tell where you guys are from. Its hard trying to keep up with it all.
I keep hearing a lot of you talk about the bad weather, so knowing where you are helps.

I hope winter is over and you guys get the weather you need to get in some good hunting.

I agree there are about 6 members staying in touch and we have about 5 we have not heard from in a while.

Ok, so John, just to make sure, the weight is 15 on the nose? or is it 15 lb 4 oz? If you could maybe just post your numbers for me just to make sure i got it right befor i put it on the scoring thread, thanks!

Phil, i know what your saying about members not saying much on here, but in the years i've been in this contest we actually have quite a few members posting this season from what i've seen in the past. There has been years where only about 3 guys on the team post regularly. I'm pretty happy with the team participation this year. Thanks guys! Hopefully those that we haven't heard from will come around sooner or later with some good news for us.

Just got back from taking my kids up to the farm to check out the new little pigs and decided we'd take a walk back down the creek bottom to check the feild. Didn't really get back as far as i wanted to cause of the kids and really couldn't see the wood line so no birds seen. But when we started to head back one hammered away from the back corner, heard my first gobble of the year!! That got me goin! I know for sure he's roostin in there now!!

scouting report lots of birds gobbling this morning. sat i am taking a youngster on his first ever turkey hunt. hope to get one close. unfortunatly where i set the blind 2 days ago(there was several birds there) there was not a single bird gobbling. but just down the road there was so who knows. if there is nothing there on friday morning i will up root the blind and find a new spot. it is all public so no big deal just dont want his first ever hunt to be filled with nothing but song birds.
