My season starts next Monday, hard to beleive! Lots of snow again and with all going on i haven't did any scouting yet. Not sure if the birds are gonna be where i need em yet or not. Gonna have to get out soon, maybe Monday morning since it doesn't look like i'll be working and see what i can find.

Had a little spare time today so I got all my cams geared up for the season. Decided to take my son and set them up also. Figured I'd better get camo'd up and take the gun with because I knew if I didn't we'd run into some. Did some walkin and callin but never did hear any responses. But it was windy out there so I'm guessing they were tucked in somewhere comfy. Still headin out tomorrow for a hunt though.

Opening day for me tomorrow finally!! I have a bunch of stuff to do but Im gonna try and get a gobbler...my wife has an appointment at 10 and hopefully she joins me after that...I have to get my bear bait put out tomorrow as well...rain or shine Im going turkey hunting!!

Good luck Wilcam! My hunt didn't pan out like I hoped. Had a couple gobblers up in the trees but I think my neighbor parked a little to close to the field. They all pitched down away from us. And where they were in the trees, they could see my set-up. Once they hit the ground they went silent and went away from us. My guess is they seen us and heard us and remembered it when the sun came up. Next week back to my hunting grounds by myself.

I am sorry to hear about your luck Mottz! I guess that is why we call it hunting.. They appear to know when we are all looking for them.. Maybe next time will be your lucky day.. Good Luck to you..

Good Luck to you as well Wilcam!! I hope you are able to score one as well. I am sorry to hear about your weather being crappy though. I saw 2 hens this evening driving home from work in a field nearby. It was a drizzly type of rain with some pretty gusty wind. That never appeared to have bothered those hens at least. I guess in that case it probably just a matter of timing???

j76 to bad you are not going to get our weather for next week It is supposed to be in the low 50s to low 60s all week. That will get those gobblers going for my hunt when it comes up in 15 more days..

Thanks guys and good luck to you all as well! I don't mind being out in the weather...just hope it doesn't lock up the gobblers! This will be the first Idaho turkey hunt! I had tag last fall but didn't have time to get out there...The morning hunt isn't gonna happen...I was supposed to get a brake line for my truck in the mail but that never happened so currently its not driveable...and we are down to one vehicle...so after my wifes appointment then we will go put out bait and try to get in an afternoon hunt...see what happens..

Made it out to the farm yesterday afternoon to look around. Not much activity but did find a set of tracks from that morning and the farmer heard one gobble right at first light the other day so i'm sure there is at least a couple birds roosting where i want them. Gonna run and check out my other spot right now, hopefully things look good there. Dad will be hunting with me, he has still never got one so he is up first. Gonna have to find a couple more birds so i can have one for myself!
