Good Luck John! When you get the chance to head back out there again
Good Luck to you as well Mottz! I hope you both get a chance to nail a big tom!
The weather here today is supposed to be in the low 50s today so that should be getting them to start a little bit. I hope they hold off for a little while longer though. It still should be alright for when my season opens up on the 29th.. 24 more days and I have that first week off for vacation hunting..

Boys, the birds are starting to crank in MO. Tomorrows youth opener could be good. Birds are showing up in our alfalfa field every day now. They are only about 2 weeks behind schedule. I've been watching a big tom in a field on the neighbors place that I have permission to hunt. It's under contract to sell so DTC Jr and I might have 1 last go at that farm before it sells.

Good luck to DTC jr.
Good luck to you to Mottz.
I will be back in the woods on Monday, it is my best hunt of the year. It is still public land, but they only allow a few people in each area and its a paid hunt, so its a better group of hunters.

Should've listened to my instincts and stayed in bed. Got to my spot and heard gobbling clear to the North on the neighbors land. They must have hit the ground with a particular destination in mind because the gobbles stopped and I never seen a bird. Next week I get to switch t shotgun so I won't have my blind with me. That will make me a little more spontaneous.

Really windy in MO, birds didn't gobble alot for us this morning. Finally got one cranking about 8:30. He broke from the flock and came running in, I got an eye on him at about 60 yards. I was thinking to myself DTC Jr is gonna lay him down soon. Needless to say abou that time here comes my dad on the tractor to feed.
The bird spooked and went up over the hill. If he would have waited 5 minutes to feed I'd be posting pics instead of growling.lol Time for lunch and head back out.
