I must say that I was excited when I heard those 1st gobbles as we were walking in. I wasn't sure what to expect since we got down there around 10:30am. But they were moving. The only thing that I can't figure out is that they were in a field, went south and circled back to the north without a care in the world. They were going somewhere and they weren't going to lose that track. Wondering if they were skirting around with some hens that I didn't see. I wish I could get out there in the morning but being Easter, I don't think I'll be able to. Its going to be a long wait til next Saturday but I already know where I will be.

I've heard birds gobble the last 3 mornings. It's sill been pretty cool and rainy in MO. Youth season opens next weekend so I will have DTC Jr out, of course that doens't help our team but since he is on the Team 1 I am sure they will be happy.lol We need some warm days and sunshine and I think it could be good.

bornagain64, yes i have permission to hunt where i picked those big sheds up. the set on the left is actually last years sheds from a buck i call basket case because his rack is a super tight and wraps. i got pics of him in august (he lost his g4 on the left so was a basic 9) but he disapeared. i never heard of him being killed and we didnt have EHD so i hope ihe is still alive. the one up top is on the same property. again pics during summer and sept but then he disapeared. i set up to hunt there but then the first week of season had 7 different guys hunt there and none hunted it smart. the deer got pushed out to across the road. i know the guy over there and he has pics of most of them i do except basket case. the set on the right is from the same place i killed my buck this year. never got a pic of him and only seen him once right after dark when i was driving home. glad he made it.

ok now about turkeys. went out to shed hunt and scout yesterday. walking a feild edge and i heard a hen yelping. so i slipped nto the woods and sat down. gave a few yelps and waited. 5 minutes and i hear a gobbler yelp. so i yelped and gave a few clucks. he hammerd it. i seen him at about 75 yards. kind of thick but he and another blew up in strut several times. there was several hens around them. both looked like decent toms. i let them slip away and he gobbled one more time. i finished my shed hunt. picked up 4

Happy Easter guys! Went up to see the farmer that owns my #1 prop last nite, on the way i ran by one of my other spots, it was just befor dark and didn't see any birds but it looked real good out there, gonna have to start watchin it a little closer. Got to the farmers and he told me just the other day he had 3 real nice toms right up next to the house in the side yard, so sounds like they should be there. They normally roost on his wood line on the edge of the cornfeild, hopin they stick with it again this yr.

Happy Easter.

This is what I saw coming home from my moms for Easter lunch.
If I do not do any better in the real woods, my BowTech and I might have to visit this field one day before season ends. 3 shooters for sure maybe more, could not make out the other 2.
