my season starts oct. 1st...a whole month away... oh i have a concern with the deer that were entered into the contest....i thought the whole deer must be visible!?
For the most part, I think they want to see the deer whole and not caped out or signs of a road kill. It gives them more to look at for catching cheaters which they occasional do.Mike's well liked on the forumand his hunts are pretty well documented.

Whilewe " willshow the whole deer " in our pictures like we are suppose to... I would leave this be. It would get ugly. Robdoes a great job watching over the contest. He decided it qualified. Mike has other pictures of the buck that he posted. It is legit.

The one thing they don't fudge on at all is not having your bow or you in the picture. Your picture willbe DQed. You better have a picture with a bow and you in it.

Tim

No you wouldn't be DQ'ed....when it says the WHOLE deer, it means just like Tim said. They don't want to see a caped out buck, or just the skull plate with the antlers on it. It's really quite simple and shouldn't be blown out of proportion...just take a good picture with the deer (preferably before gutting), yourself, and YOUR BOW. There was actually a person last year that got caught trying to enter a gun kill in this contest, and like Tim said I wouldn't be surprised to see someone try to enter a roadkill even.
The rules are the same for everyone, and again like Tim said there were several other pictures of the deer posted in the general bowhunting area with the story. I'm not sure if they got the giant on film, but I think they got the other on film because those guys actually do make their own hunting videos so yeah...the kills were well documented and without question.

I suspect he would let it pass so no. Rob is pretty decent. They haven't been critical of not showing every square inch of the deer in the past. If you want to try it... make sure you also have a picture of the whole deer for a back up just to be safe. [8D] After this yearthey will all know you when you beat Hunsucker's buck. Right?? Hunsucker who???? Old news kind of like the Dark Horses!!

You have a legit concern... don't get me wrong. Fairness should be shown for all whether you are popular or not really known. That why we will do it by the book so no worries.

Well hunting has been slow. Last night I had 3 bucks go by but nothing realbig. Felt good just being out there.

Tonight I hunted another spot. It was way too quiet.A really small doe went by me. I had high hopes for this spot as I know a good buck calls it home. I hadTyler setup on the other side so at least one of us would get to see him. He was a no show. Tyler had a little buck go by him and the same little doe.

Hopefully the big boys start moving a bit more. I will get to hunt quite a bit this week and hopefully the whole weekend.

No big deal Brandon....like we said...as long as WE follow all the rules, we have nothing to worry about.
Tim; keep us posted on what's going on, I heard we have cooler weather headed for us, so I would guess you do as well?
Tonight when I got home from work, I saw a good buck in my yard! He was the smaller of 2 that I saw bedded on the oak knob behind the house about a month ago. He's a real solid 2 1/2 yr old 8 that's probably low 120s, but if he makes the mistake of showing up in daylight once season opens, he may get the surprise of his life. I think he would make an excellent first buck for the woman. The people that hunt the property behind ours shoot EVERYTHING, last year the 3 they shot I could have picked up all at once! lol Kinda hard to fill a freezer 10 lbs at a time...lol

Hey FLboy77. You want a first Citrus bowhunt tag. I wont be using it and maybe you could. If not I will put it up for grabs for somebody else.
