just found out that I will have a nother bow hunter in my family woods this year. I have never had this problem before. I have been the only one in there. My uncle owns a bar, and is letting one of his drinking buddies in to hunt. the guy is an old guy 66, he is using a cross bow and is set up right in the middle of my best funnle. the worst part about this is the guy owns 100 acres of his own land 7 miles away that he is not hunting so his grandson can bow hunt the whole thing. this totally screws me up. if he is hunting and there is a north west wind, which is 90% of the time the whole woods of mine is messed up. I am sure that he smokes, and stinks like old stale whiskey. This land is family land, not for drinking buddies with their own land. There is really nothing I can do because I am afraid that if I try to raise a stink, my uncle will just say he wants out and would want my mom and aunt to buy him out and neither them or I could do anything to afford it, this sucks alot, any sugestions would be great. NOT VERY HAPPY!!!

That sucks.

Could you try talking to the guy to see if he might be willing to relocate his stand to an area of the property that wouldn't screw up your spot?

Sounds like you are in a tough spot. I would ask the old guy if you can hunt his land since he is hunting on your land. It only seems fair.If he says "no" then ask him why not? Turn the tables on him and point out that you have worked hard to maintain your land. Perhaps you could get him to set up in a "better location" than your funnel. Try theshoulder of the interstate! Tell him you'll set upa lawn chair and umbrella for him. Good luck. It's always tough when family is involved.

You should hire out droptine to run the guy off. He seems well practiced at it.

Sorry about your situation.

checking in, sept 8th hunt yesterday evening.. slipped up on top of a big ridge line into a saddle last night, got set up in my ground blind (previously made) wind was working a decent direction, not the best but a crosswind. Just at sunset a nice mature 4x4 and then a younger one stepped out at about 70 yards directly in front of my blind. I filmed them and watched them slip down out of the timber and into the clearcut to feed. I was hoping a certain big 5x5 would show in the saddle but nothing else showed, nice evening, long hike out in the dark... cow calling the whole way to get past the bucks..

Can't hunt tonight, sons football practice ( I promised their coach I would go help them out tonight) back at it again tomorrow.
