Thanks Nick, those deer are tough as nails this year [:@],

And don't worry about not being on much, as long as your out in the woods enjoying yourself thats all that matters (as well astrying your damn hardest to nail a Boone and Crockett freak daddy ). I personally have never killed a deer in any month but November, and always in the 2nd or3rd week. So any deer that i harvest in the early season will bea accomplishment.

Hey guys, had a productive evening hunt. I went to the ladder stand i just hung, because my dad was cutting wood on our other property. I didnt have much faith in it, but it shows what i know .

After being on stand for about an hour, i saw antlers in the brush infront of me.I grabbed my binos and saw that he wasnt quite whati was looking for. So i grabbed my Sony Handycam attached to a Gorilla Tree Arm, and filmed him for awhile. He was a nice 2.5 year old 5 point, and i enjoyed watching him for awhile. After a few minutes, i noticed 4 does coming in from the left. They never came any closer then about 80 yards, and the buck walked over and interacted with them for awhile. I was hoping the momma slickhead would work her way over, but she stayed pretty far out. After awhile they browsed off in the other direction. One more doe joined them after awhile, and she was a freaking BUTCH! but she never came within 200 yards.

Ill post up some pics of my new stand and the video later after i get it uploaded.

I too had a pretty nice afternoon hunt. Was in a ground blind in a transition zone as I mentioned before and saw a total of 10 does and a heckuva 2.5 year old 6 point. We got trail cam pics, video footage and several encouters with him last year and we knew he had good potential and he didnt disappoint. He's going to be a mammoth next year and a giant the year after! Had one doe at 11 yards and another at 16 but elected to pass. The rest were between 30 and 80 yards away, feedin on the sweet nuts.

My brother and Dad will be hunting with me next weekend so I like to share doe hunts and hopefully harvestswith those two, so hopefully I'll get one next weekend.

Moved the blind I hunted from last night. I know you are probably wondering why when I had two deer within stones-throw, but I feel like I'm in better position for a harvest now. I only moved it about 15 yards anyway, I am now in better position to catch them going to and from bedding/ feeding areas. Also put the trail cam in the same location so I'm hopin to get a pic of that nice 6 point on there. Also saw a nice rub in the same area too. It's alonglast yearsrub line made by a buck we call The Dark Knight- a 150" buck that we're huntin hard for this year- I'm hopin its him!

Hopefully it is!

Ihad another productive hunt tonight, saw 6 does from the stand but they all kept their distance, i think im gunna move my ladderstand just a bit to get it closer to their POE in the field.I also saw a HOG of a woodchuck enter and leave the field 3 separate times, im not sure what his deal was.

That makes my season total 27 deer on 13 hunts. 12 does, 12 fawns and 3 bucks.

I dont think im going to be able to get back in the stand until Friday morning , I work and have fire training on Monday and Tuesday, doctors appointment on Wednesday morning followed by a fire department meeting, and workplus more fire training on Thursday. But that will give the woods time to cool down and also allow me to hang some more stands.
