Siman- first off I'm sorry you didn't find your buck bro, I really am. Trust me I have lost several deer with a bow (my ignorant inexperience) and it's a sickening feeling everytime yet I find some positive and learn some lessons as well.

Also- I'll be hitting the woods for the first time this season tomorrow morning! I really, positively, absolutley cannot wait. I'm pumped. I'll be hunting a transition zone/staging areabetween two prime bedding areas and a white oak flat that I THINK might present a shot at Lefty- a 130-135" class mainframe 10 with a split left G2 in the morning. Even I don't even see him its going to be a great hunt- I do however, expect some buck activity at my morning location, regardless of age and size, there is just too much cover, water and food available for a biggun to not show up SOMETIME during the season.

In the afternoon I'll be hunting another transition zone between bedding areas where there are several oaks that are really dumpin the acorns. Im not really expectin much buck activity out of this blind, I'm just hopin to garner a little info about the herd and their patterns cause my brother (wahoohunter) will be comin in next weekend and we are goin to try to take a couple does.

I should be on tomorrow night with a summary!

My hunt this evening was rather dull guys, and i didnt see a single deer yet again. I was hunting the blue star. Thats makes 15 deer sightings in 10 hunts.

In the morning i plan on going to the green star again. Even though i have only seen 1 deer their, i still feel its a good spot. I plan on hanging my new ladder stand tommorow directly to the north of the pond thats to the left of the yellow star. It is a very productive spot, and where i killed my first deer,a six point. The bucks like to cruise that tree line in mid-October looking for does. We have sen some hammers from the road their.

Heres the map of where i shot my buck last night guys. The red dot was where we had our blind. After he got hit he ran south. We searched all those woods, but came up empty handed [:@]. This property is loaded, i mean LOADED with deer. It used to be owned by an uncle, but he sold it when he got too old. It is now owned by a family friend who is more then happy to let us hunt or do my summer time hobby (Turtleling).

I have not. But I'll be in his bedroom waiting for him tomorow morning. Im gona start getting aggressive the next week and a half before muzzleloader opens. Word has traveled to the neighboring properties and Im worried hes not gona make it passed October 20. [:@]I've met the guys that hunt the bordering properties and I've hear several less than ethical (or legal for that matter) stories about some of the deer they have taken off the farm. [:'(]Thats just how it is around here..I've gotta suck it up and try to beat them fair and square. Hopefully tomorow morning I can arrow him!

No luck for me this morning fellow hunters- I had a slower than expected morning to be honest- 4 does a button buck and a nice 1.5 year old, two jakes and gobbler was all I saw. I'm not too worried about it though, the stand I was hunting just has too many great ingredients to not present an opportunity at a big buck. Time will tell. Also- checked the trails cams today- one is broke.. a bear smacked it around. Saw about 15+ does on the ride out from the camp which is of crouse a good sign as well.

Time for a little college football, a nap, shower then I'll be heading back out for the p.m edition.

Good luck! Your stand location sounds killer.

I just got back from hanging my ladder stand, but i dont think ill be able to hunt it tonight. It took longer then expected and we sweated up the place real bad. Maybe tommorow or monday night. I think im going to go to my stand on the side of the hay field, but i havnt decided yet.
