My trip was a bust:(
Well not totally. Camp was great..... the 5 of us and one youngster had a blast. Monday AM was the best as the weather was good. Monday afternoon and tuesday was impossible to sit in stands and I hunted from the ground. WINDY like crazy. The rookie of the group saw a buck opening morning and he had his 9yr old son on stand with him........ he missed with the first shot and the buck scampered 10yds and gave him another opportunity. MISS. He came back to camp and said if I was there we would have a buck down. I said a 3x3....... no shooter. I did have a doe come in monday afternoon but with the wind howling and the tree swaying....... 45yd shot I passed.

Well at least you got to hunt Rob. It seems like you had a good time anyways and everyone came home safe. When do you get in a tree next?

Well it looks like it is comming together.

I like it.

Here are a couple new kids

The middle guy might be old enough

I think the other two are still babies, they just seem to have small bodies and baby faces.

More hours yet Christine???? Nothing like a free labor force!
Spent the day carrying big hunks of firewood from the big pile to the silo... tossing the wood into the silo... climbing into the silo and stacking said wood... then back to the big pile..........

I was having fun but I'm sore now.

Only eight more hours. (and I still haven't seen a deer on the property but I did see a buck right across the fence.)

Wow!! Nice buck!

you from MB sandilands?

Yup....... Winnipeg MB. Thats a buddy of mine from work. I think his opening day buck went 179 and change gross last yr. Heck of a buck. I've hunted public land most of my hunting life but this yr I have private too and I AM holding on to my buck tag;)

out of all the avatars so far i really like the first one, but wish the bonetech could be more like the bowtech logo like it is in the second one

NCRemington700 08-27-2008 07:18 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

Anybody else?

YooperMike 08-27-2008 08:20 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

I like the second one, more of the Bowtech logo, but the first one would be perfectly fine for me too. You can make the call NC.

Good luck finishing up Christine, season is getting close. As far as deerr numbers in the park...can't help you there! Stick by Deb...she seems to do ok in there!

NCRemington700 08-27-2008 08:34 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

I like the second one better myself. I was hoping to get a little more input before we make the call ya know?

pa_yote_hunter 08-27-2008 09:24 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

i like the second one alot too, but i do not like the fact that you really cannot see the deers face....if that was fixed, or was explained why teh deer was covered up that would be awesome

RE: Official Team 39 thread

I told him just to add a nice rack and something "fall like" instead of the water that was in the picture I showed him. I think it's just supposed to be a rack in the leaves and not necessarily the whole head.

I emailed Matt that made our avatar and asked him if he could make the "39" a little easier to see. I'll post it up once I get it back from him.

I am using it as well

RE: Official Team 39 thread

I switched mine as well.

I just got back from one of my properties. We had to plant some Biologic Hot Spot. It's a no plow mixture of seeds. We planted it near 2 stands that already had Trophy Rock by them too. The deer are hitting the rock hard. Makes me wish I had bit the bullet and bought a trail cam! [&:][:@] Oh well. We added lime and fertilizer and we've been getting rain every couple of days so it should be good. Season opens Sept. 15th on that property.

:D:D:DWell if she gets a cow Deb, don't worry, I like beef too.

Nice job on the deer tracks btw. They look very authentic!

RE: Official Team 39 thread

you gonna go put one on the ground Dave??

NCRemington700 08-28-2008 11:19 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

I sure hope so Steven. The first 2 weeks of my season are bucks only...how stupid is that?[:'(] After the 15th...anything is game! So for the first 2 weeks if he isn't a shooter, he ain't gettin shot! That sucks because I'll probably end up being covered up with does and won't be able to do a thing but enjoy watching them!

YooperMike 08-28-2008 11:33 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

Weird, bucks only at the beginning? Sounds backwards to how most places do it. Good luck either way!

NCRemington700 08-28-2008 12:05 PM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

Yep it's backwards. That's how we do it in the South. Uh, wait a minute, that didn't sound right. But yeah it is backasswards!

Long weekend folks, any plans? Nothing major for me, shoot a little, fire up the smoker for some things. SUpposed to be real nice weather all weekend here. Anyone hunting this weekend?

NCRemington700 08-29-2008 07:39 AM

RE: Official Team 39 thread

No, I won't be hunting this weekend...but I will Monday! I'm headed to the NC mountains after work today to see the folks. They've been harrassing me to come up there and I figured if I go ahead now I won't have to lose a weekend during the season.

All the way up there and back you'll see bucks galore! Starting Monday I heard South Carolina is having their annual "Does Only During Daylight" festival. Have fun brother!:D
