I probably won't be out until Saturday. We only have 1 vehicle and it's been acting up so I've got to take it in for repair. Scheduled for Friday morning so hopefully I'll be back out on Saturday. [&:]

RJP--I sent you my E-Mail addy in a PM.

Worked yesterday and today, going out Tomorrow all day, really pumped up about it.
My buddy called me at work last night at 6:40 ,asked if I could come help him track his deer,I said I was off work at 7:00 and I would be right out.He shot it at 6:30.I rushed home to get my son, some flashlights and headed out to my buddies stand. We started looking at around 7:45.Found very little blood in the field,a small Island blocked his view from the other side of the field,we found spots here and there and knew it went right to the fence line, well there we seen his blood trail, easy trail right to the deer.It was a nice 8 inch spike horn, good eatin he says--lol--Congrats to my bud,now he is off for the trophy.
Wish me luck guys-I am feelin good

Well guys MO was kind of a let down. We saw 7 bucks total with only three of them being shooters and I just happened not to see any bucks at all. I passed on a few does and shot a coon. Thats my Missouri hunt. The biggest problem is that the deer dont move at all in the morning. They are already on their bellies way before day light. Another thing was that we were hunting soy bean fields and most of them were in the process of being cut. Yeah lots of combines going around the fields. I am very disappointed and the last afternoon I cussed those damn tractors for two days, hell Im still cussin 'em. We will be hunting several weeks later next year. We had a great time but all we had to show were two does and two coons. Im going to try and get in the woods this afternoon and then again this weekend and put a tag on a TN deer. See you guys later. Good luck to everyone.

No luck this morning. In fact I didn't see a single deer today. The weather was too warm for my tastes so I only stayed on stand until about 9:30am. I hope we get some relief soon. It's not supposed to be this warm in October! LOL

Well, we had a great antelope season this weekend. My buddy from KS. had the first go at filling his tag and he got a real wide 13" buck about 4 hours into the season. We got it de-boned and on ice and back out to find one for me. It only took us about 3 more hours of looking to find one of the better bucks that we had located on Friday, before season opened. I put a quick stock on and shot my buck at about 200 yards, which doesn't seem like much, but we had winds that were gusting over 40 mph. I was able to lay prone with my bi-pod for the shot, which made it very do-able. My buck is13" plus, heavy with a good spread. The area that we hunted just doesn't have the genetics to grow big antelope, big is 16" or better. There has only ever been one buck shot on this ranch that was over 15"s. Lots of 11"-12" bucks and smaller. SO, got meat in the freezer, plus my buddy donated his meat to me as well, since his family just doesn't eat much wild game. My wife and I really like antelope.

Might also mention, that I had my bow with us all weekend, in case of a BIG mule deer spotting, But although we saw mule deer, saw 7 bucks this morning, we never saw any big ones. I'm planning on going back out next Friday to concentrate on them. Hoping the ranchers will start seeing a big one or two and can give me a heads up as to where they are hanging out at.

Howler - Man thats a great antelope and it looks like he has alot of character. Thats what one thing I like about hunting you may only hunt one specie of animal at a time but each and every animal is different. I was thinking about heading to Wyoming before too long to hunt up some pronghorns. Good luck with the mule deer.

Update - I hunted Sat. and Sunday morning until about 9:00 each time and never saw a deer. However I had 7 longbeards (including one of the biggest birds I have ever seen) flydown on top of me. I couldnt get a shot so when I got down I followed them down a logging road and had one come out of the woods at 27 yards, drew down on him, and he saw me. So that was that. The deer just arent moving in the mornings. Same deal as in Missouri. Ive jumped a few walking out but they were all bedded. Im trying my hardest to hunt the wind but Im not seeing any deer. I even went out of the bag and moved to a spot I wanted to hunt last year. Just not seeing anything. I hope everyone had better luck than I did. I'll catch ya'll later.
